The One Last Tour is finally here! The world most popular house trio Swedish House Mafia arrives for the first time in Finland! The last ”One Last Tour” world tour arrives 20 December in Helsinki Hartwall Arena.
Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music trio consisting of three house disc jockeys and producers. Swedish House Mafia consists of members that have reached the pinnacle of success : Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello.

They have reached around the world a number one rankings and their most recent single release "Don't You Worry Child" has been listened to Finland's playlists continuously. The group officially formed in late 2008. Swedish House Mafia have been called "the faces of mainstream progressive house music."
On June 24, 2012 it was announced via the group's website that the final leg of their 2012 tour would be their last: "Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.

Other famous productions of SHM are: "One", "Miami 2 Ibiza", "Greyhound", "Antidote", "Save The World" and "Calling (Lose my mind)"

Tickets cost 75/79 euros and the event is no age limit.

We interviewed a few of SHM Finnish fans:

  1. SHM brings their ”One Last Tour” concert to Finland in December. What do you think about that?
  2. What do you think about the concert venue (Hartwall Arena)?
  3. What do you think about the ticket prices? Are the tickets reasonably-priced?
  4. What do you expect the most?
  5. What is your favourite SHM song?
Answers

Jesse 24 years old from Raisio
1. Cool! It's nice to get there.
2. I've never been there
3. The price is ok. However, it should be no more.
4. I look forward to a great concert and lights
5. One (Your name)

Valtteri 24 years old from Tampere
1. I think it is awesome that they decided to come to Finland especially since this is their “last tour”. House is still a relatively small and not so recognized genre in Finland so it is great that they perform here in December. It is really good for House music and for Finnish fans, who probably did not think this could be possible (me included).
2. Hartwall Arena is definitely the right place for this concert. It is big enough, it is in the capital city so it is easy to get there to and they have the best sound system in Finland.
3. Ticket prices are reasonable if you are a fan, but for average goer or for a person how thinks of going they (ticket prices) might be little over the top. For me it is fine. I could pay even more, because I know it is going to be legendary.
4. What I expect the most is absolutely to just party and dance with people who are into this music as much as I am. Of course I expect to hear all the awesome remixes and hits and maybe something out of the blue.
5. I love them all, but the one that stands out from the crowd is Greyhound.

Tero 29 years old from Kerava
1. It`s awesome that they have chosen Finland as one of the tour countries.
2. Its a good and big enough indoor place to have the concert.
3. The ticket prices are kinda too high compared to other artist tour prices, but it`s the last one, so I think its bearable.
4. It`s gonna be the last tour, so the fans are gathered up and that`s why the atmosphere will be out of this world, cause all true fans are together.
5. Don`t you worry child.

Imaginaerum

Kappaleiden muuttaminen on varmasti raikas tuulahdus monelle fanille.

Elokuvaan on hyvin upotettu symboliikkaa muun muassa Lumiukon hahmossa.

Helsinki 2012 World Design Capital

As you know, Helsinki won the WDC designation, this year and is now a part of the renowned list of cities which had the honor to win this prestigious title. Four years ago, the Italian town Torino won the first WDC prize, and then in 2010 it was the turn of Seoul in South Korea. In 2014 we already know that the South African oldest town Cape Town won the competition. But what are the criteria to win this challenge? Why Helsinki? Let’s return together in Finland design history and learn more about what events must have been seen and those which should be seen today in Helsinki.
Firstly what is the World Design Capital designation? This is an initiative of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) - an international non-governmental organization that aims to protect and promote the profession of industrial design. The initial concept for the World Design Capital initiative was first introduced to the ICSID Executive Board with the ambitious, yet imperative goal to impress upon cities, the importance and recognition of design as a leading development tool. Indeed its goal is not only to raise the global awareness of design, but more importantly, to showcase the importance of design as an actor to enhance social, cultural, economic and environmental quality of life. This is also links to the great evolution of creative industries during those past ten years which has been an important lever for some developing countries such as Brazil for instance.

So, knowing this definition and knowing also Helsinki goal and theme in the competition of embedding Design in life, we understand why it won. Indeed Helsinki Design includes well-known global brands, such as Nokia, Kone and Marimekko, popular events, like the annual Helsinki Design Week, first class education and research institutions, such as University of Art and Design Helsinki, and strong traditions, for example architects and designers Eliel Saarinen and Alvar Aalto. By the way if you have the chance to go to Helsinki Design museum you will really love to rediscover many objects from your childhood like Fiskars scissors or some famous fences such as the transparent and round handing chair.

You will also learn that a finish designer has imagined a coat that could also be turned into a tent for homeless people ...
But what about the events who must have been seen and those which are still to be seen?
First I want to talk about the BMW ART CAR exhibition which had taken place between 01/09/12 and 31/10/12. I think this exhibition was really good and a nice opportunity because since 1975, BMW has been producing unique art cars known as BMW Art Cars and Designers of the new paintwork of the 17 cars in the BMW Art Car Collection include Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, David Hockney, Jenny Holzer, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and in the latest instance, Jeff Koons in 2010.

Another exhibition which is still to be seen and who is seems to be really impressive is the Kamppi Chapel of Silence project. The chapel is designed by K2S Architects with architect Mikko Summanen as the main designer. The chapel is a fine example of innovative timber architecture, and the design has already been recognized: it was awarded with the Chicago Athenaeum International Architecture Award 2010.
